This women’s day, it’s time to turn the spotlight on the often unsung heroes of our society – the female heroes or “SHE-roes” who have made just as much of a positive impact as their male counterparts, yet are often overshadowed. This International Women’s Day, we are celebrating and recognizing the valiant efforts of these “SHE-roes” who have been instrumental in making our world a better place.
“SHE-roes” is a week-long extravaganza planned by Gham Power to celebrate International Women’s Day 2023 with a theme of Women’s Empowerment and Sustainability. From February 27th to March 4th, it is an event consisting of three transformative programs.
SHE-Creates: A Renewable Energy Mural Contest for Female Artists
First up, we have SHE-Creates (Feb 27-28) which is a sustainable-themed mural contest open exclusively to female artists to unleash their creativity and showcase their love for the environment through their brushes. Sustainable-themed mural art is a powerful tool for spreading awareness and promoting a more sustainable society. Murals can be of great help in making complex environmental issues accessible to a wider audience. Through well-executed murals we can communicate a message in a way that is both captivating and easy to understand, thus potentially inspiring individuals to advocate for the environment and take action for sustainability.
SHE-Fights: A Self-Defense Training for Female Safety
Next up, we have SHE-Fights (March 4) – a self-defense training campaign that empowers women to tackle any difficult situation with confidence. This program will definitely help women unleash their inner warrior to take control of their own safety and well-being. This approach will not only equip participating women with the necessary skills and knowledge but also prepare them mentally and emotionally to make informed decisions. Incorporating a psychological component into programs like SHE-Fights can have a significant impact on the overall well-being of participating women including resilience, confidence, and overall empowerment. By incorporating both practical and psychological aspects, the program aims to provide a holistic and empowering experience for all participants.
SHE-Saves: A Blood Donation Campaign by Women to the Society
Last but not least, SHE-Saves (March 4) is a blood donation campaign by women, for society to give the gift of life. It is estimated that there is a daily need for around 2,000 units of blood in Nepal to meet the demand for transfusions and other medical procedures. However, this number can significantly increase during the time of natural disasters, conflict, or other emergencies. By donating blood, individuals can help alleviate the shortage of blood supplies, making it available to those in need. Moreover, our SHE-Saves program provides not only blood, but also education on accessing it, including information on finding local blood banks, donating blood, and coping during shortages. This empowers individuals to take control of their health and have the necessary resources to access blood when needed.
Compassion, Fiercefulness, and Creativity are the major components of our “SHE-roes” event. REGISTER NOW through this link to be a part of an impactful movement for gender equity, and sustainability and make an impact in our society.
