Introduction
As energy demand surges and grid reliability becomes a growing concern, solar power alone is no longer enough. Gham Power is addressing this challenge head-on and expanding beyond solar with GRIPS (Solar + Battery Storage). This smart energy solution pairs solar generation with advanced Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) to deliver clean and reliable power whenever and wherever it’s needed.
With GRIPS, Gham Power is working to accelerate this transition and make clean energy more dependable and accessible.
Showcasing GRIPS on the Global Stage
GRIPS has gained significant international visibility, with Gham Power presenting the technology across platforms in Bhutan, India and Thailand, building strategic partnerships and demonstrating the real-world value of solar-plus-storage systems.
A key highlight was participation in the ASEAN Smart Energy & Energy Storage Expo (ASEE) in Bangkok, Thailand where global industry leaders, innovators and energy experts gathered to showcase the latest advancements in renewable energy and storage technologies. The event provided a strong platform to explore emerging solutions, engage with stakeholders and identify new collaboration opportunities.
By showcasing GRIPS at the global stage, Gham Power highlighted how battery-backed solar systems can deliver reliable, sustainable and future-ready energy solutions for growing energy markets.

Technical Knowledge Exchange in Bhutan
As part of the GRIPS Phase 2 Knowledge Exchange Mission, Gham Power organized the GRIPS Technical Showcase in Bhutan in collaboration with consortium partners Dolma Impact Fund, Swanbarton and Practical Action with support from Bhutan’s Department of Energy.
The showcase brought together developers, investors, utilities and policymakers to explore the potential of grid-connected solar-plus-BESS systems in strengthening Bhutan’s power system. With seasonal winter energy deficits and rising industrial demand, discussions focused on improving grid reliability, reducing dependence on diesel imports and enhancing long-term energy security.
The exchange provided valuable insights into both technical and commercial viability while encouraging greater private sector participation and collaboration toward a more sustainable and resilient energy future.

Strengthening BESS Knowledge Through Training in India
As part of the GRIPS project and our ongoing BESS installation at Laxmi Steels, our team participated in a comprehensive BESS study and training program to strengthen technical and practical knowledge. The learning journey began with an online training conducted from March 19–21, 2026, by Dr. Tathagata Sarkar, Anirban Guria and Dr. Jiban Krishna Das, which covers the key concepts of BESS design, engineering and applications. This was followed by an in-person technical training in India from March 23–28, 2026, led by Anirban Guria and Dr. Tathagata Sarkar.
During the visit, the team toured the 10 MW battery storage facility at the Rohini Substation of Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited, gaining valuable insights into large-scale BESS deployment, operation and safety practices. The team also visited additional relevant sites to understand real-world battery storage applications further. This training directly supports the successful implementation of the GRIPS-related BESS project at Laxmi Steels.

Pilot Installation Underway
Taking GRIPS from concept to real-world application, Gham Power has begun a pilot Solar + Battery Storage installation at Laxmi Steels. This deployment will demonstrate how solar energy can be stored and used during power outages, peak demand hours and non-sunlight periods by ensuring a more reliable and consistent energy supply for industrial operations.
This pilot at Laxmi Steels represents a key milestone for GRIPS, moving beyond discussions and showcases toward practical implementation and wider adoption of solar + battery storage solutions.

Powering the Future with GRIPS
With GRIPS, solar energy becomes more than just daytime power. By combining solar generation with intelligent battery storage, Gham Power is enabling cleaner, more reliable and future-ready energy systems.
From global stages to local pilot sites, GRIPS is driving the next phase of energy resilience where solar works around the clock and clean energy becomes a reliable reality for businesses and communities alike.
